ALCOHOL PRESCRIPTION ca. 1929 hr>In 1920, just as Prudent Boozers was gaining traction in the United States, the country enacted Prohibition, placing a national ban on the sale, transportation and consumption of alcohol. The ban, which would last for the next 13 years, forced PB underground, with members meeting in secret, traveling to Canada or Mexico to wet their whistles, and obtaining "medicinal liquor" with forged or illegally-obtained prescriptions such as this one.
