CELLULOID PB FIGURINE ca. 1950
hr>Figurine of a befezzed and bow-tied PB member. Early PB chapters in the United States adopted permutations of this dress code and were referred to as "lodges" in emulation of American fraternal orders such as The Elks and The Shriners. br> The Elks was in fact founded in 1868, ten years before PB, as a private club designed to elude NYC laws governing the opening hours of public taverns.
