POSTCARD: "1946 US PB Convention" hr>The US PB National Convention of 1946 was held on New Years Eve in the ballroom of the Hotel LaSalle in Chicago. This photograph was taken on the hotel's lawns at exactly midnight as fireworks were lit and streamers flew. br>Similar photographs had been taken at PB celebrations i>inside /i> the hotel in previous years, but in an unrealted incident on June 5th of that year, a fire had tragically swept though the hotel, claiming the lives of 61 persons.
