CLAY MINI-JUG COLLECTION ________________________ p>From 1860 to 1910, stoneware jugs such as these were used as promotional items by small U.S. businesses, carrying the names of establishments ranging from hotels to taverns to liquor stores, each stenciled in blue ink onto the ceramic. Nurse collected, and received, over 100 mini-jugs while lecturing in America's South during the 1910s and had the collection shipped back to Wales for display in the museum.
