DD PAMPHLET ca. 1903
One of many pamphlets distributed between 1902 and 1908 by the so-called Dashing Drunks (or "DD") movement, which sought to quash PB as it gained a toehold in London at the turn of the century. In fact, DD was a front for a consortium of London tavern owners who saw PB was a threat to their livelihood. Much of DD's literature promoted the phrase "Down Your Dozen to Her Majesty's Health & Nurse the 13th!", implying that to drink any less was act of "treason." br> i>(See "DD vs PB" section on this website) /i>
